Each year Printing Industries of the Gulf Coast’s Graphic Excellence Awards Competition recognizes the best in technology and craftsmanship from the region’s printing, imaging, finishing and creative community.

 

And every year companies push the envelope on superb quality and inspiring detail in their work. A new year brings astounding creativity with leading –edge technology that brings concepts to life.

 

Winners are not only recognized by their peers for their outstanding work, but they have tremendous marketing opportunities. Recipients have found GEA to be one step on the path to growing their business.

NEW! (Janaury 2015) Manager of Plant Production: Exciting opportunity to manage and run Houston ISD’s print production facility! Houston ISD currently serves over 215,000 students, supports over 280 schools, and has over 28,000 employees.

As the Manager of Plant Production, you would be responsible for managing the operations of the district’s main production facility for all offset printing, high-speed copying production, bindery, fulfillment, digital pre-press, internal mails, and outgoing U.S. mail processing.  You will manage and coordinate through multiple production supervisors all of the interdependent custom manufacturing processes of the Printing Plant to ensure the effective and efficient operation of a multimillion dollar enterprise.

 

You would be responsible for developing and administering business processes, work flow, and resources to maintain maximum plant productivity in a dynamic, high pressure, ever changing environment with frequent schedule/priority changes on short notice. You must be able to oversee and approve cost estimates for all printing, bindery, fulfillment, U.S. mail projects, and billing and collection of revenue.

Management duties include:

  • Serving as the system administrator for the department’s enterprise printing management system, postal automation software, and postal accounting systems.
  • Serve as the department liaison with other departments, Managers, Directors, and Chiefs
  • Training of all key staff

The right candidate should have:

  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Prior print (Plant) experience is preferred
  • Prior people management experience is preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree, or additional equivalent
  • Experience with PeopleSoft, SAP, HTML, Microsoft Office preferred

Sr. Customer Service Rep:  Exciting opportunity to work in the print services department for the largest school district in Texas! The Sr. Customer Service Representative will be responsible for ensuring delivery of excellent customer service to internal and external clients of the print services group. You will be responsible for coordinating with other departments to resolve inquiries and follow through on requests. You will act as a liason between customers and the print deaprtment. Duties will also include consultation services (outbound calls, emails, etc.) to advise internal customers of print department services. You will perforam a wide variety of support activities such as maintenance, creative services, duplication, procurement, and transportation.  The right candidate should have:

  • 5+ years of related experience including processing orders for printing services
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Microsoft Office Suite and experience with a Print Management System

Small Press Operator: Pasadena ISD. Candidate must be able to print on A.B. Dick or Ryobi single-color presses but be run multiple colors with various stock types. Candidate must be knowledgeable about using production copiers and work well under tight deadlines. Education requirment: High School diploma or GED High School equivalency.
